By several deserters from the British army at King's bridge, examined at Peekskill, we have the following information. That Colonel Rall's regiment, stationed between Colonel Cortlandt's and the North river, consists of about two hundred and fifty men, with two other Hessian regiments, three hundred men each; one regiment at Fort Washington and another at Fort Independence, three hundred men each; the whole commanded by General Smith, a Hessian; they keep a picket of fifty men advanced about a mile from their main body. That they have two field-pieces to each battalion. That Brown's corps consists of about four hundred and fifty, stationed at King's bridge, De Lancey's four hundred and fifty, Bayard's two hundred and eighty, Colonel Fanning's four hundred and fifty, the New York volunteers, commanded by Colonel Grant, one hundred and fifty, the 6th British regiment of two hundred and fifty men lie at Mount Mifflin; and Colonel Robinson's, lying at Morrisania, contains about three hundred. General Clinton has the command of British troops, and General Smith, the Hessians; a great number of Hessians are sick in the New York hospital.
