A Man Decapitated in a Saw-mill.
The Manassas (Va.) Gazette states that a few days since Mr. George Root, a young man employed to help run a saw-mill near that place, was standing on the carriage, engaged in sawing logs, when another employee of the mill had his foot caught in some way, and the carriage was stopped suddenly to extricate him. The carriage, however, stopping so suddenly, threw Mr. Root forward on the saw, which, being in rapid motion, first struck him on the shoulder, and cutting through that, passed to his neck; nearly severing the head from the body and causing instantaneous death.
