Listen! What's that? Did you hear it? Hear what? Why, our new gong. No longer will it be necessary to run at break-neck speed up two flights of stairs to reach the History room before Pres. Bramwell has disappeared.
A new order of text books arrived during the week and now the students are more able to be prepared.
Wednesday morning the faculty gave the students the privilege of electing their officers. After a "close fight" Horace Crandell was chosen as president. The following morning the staff was completed, as follows: First vice president, Thalia Kartchner; second vice president, Loran Shumway; secretary and treasurer, Viola Bramwell; yell master, Willis Hunt; dramatic manager, Leone Kartchner; debating manager, Clara Rogers; athletic manager, Leo Frost; standard bearer, L. S. Kartchner.
A basket ball challenge has been received from the N. A. N. S. of Flagstaff which was enthusiastically received. The game will be played on or near Oct. 24.
Each class has been asked to help equip one department of the Academy. This necessitates hard work on the part of the students of the various classes. But all are willing to put forth their untiring efforts.
The Comish Debating Club was reorganized the first of the week, G. A. Smith being reelected president.
The Mechanical Art Department is the only thing lacking now.
Three cheers for the S. S. A. and its colors-the Buff and Blue.
