Serious Collision—Steamboat Sunk.

The steamboats "Bob Letcher" and "Hard Times" came into collision about 12 o'clock on Thursday night, fifteen miles above Louisville, by which the former was immediately sunk in twelve feet water.

There were a large number of passengers on board, who were considerably frightened, and some jumped overboard, but fortunately no lives were lost.

The boat, it is supposed, cannot be raised. Her machinery, furniture, and cargo, consisting of tobacco, hemp, bagging, &c., will be saved in a damaged state. She was insured. Of course nobody is to blame.
