D. C. PHYSICIAN UNDER ARREST

A Washington physician, Dr. Cary B. Freeman, and Mrs. Virginia McAllister were arrested and charged with performing abortion when the woman's home was raided last week. When police entered through the front door Mrs. McAllister attempted to escape through a rear door and was seized by officers. Dr. Freeman was arrested later at his office.

Searches during the raid indicated that this elaborately furnished home had been the scene of over 300 such illegal operations while two young women were waiting to undergo treatment. Police assert that one as a 28-year-old government worker, and the other a 19-year-old, found nude in separate rooms. When questioned they both admitted that they were there for operations.
