NEW-YORK, Dec. 1.

The Benheim letter of marque, Capt. Haggey, arrived here on Monday last, from England. On the 5th inst. she fell in with and retook the brig Execution, Leonard Wightson, master, belonging to this port, laden with wine from St. Michael's; taken by the privateer sloop Civil Usage, Gedtags, master, belonging to Tracy and Co. of Newbury. On the 21st she retook the schooner Harriet, Benjamin Berry, mate, with wine and salt, from Teneriffe, for Nantucket; and on the 25th fell in with a rebel privateer brig of 13 guns, and after an engagement of five glasses, she sheered off, having received much damage in her hull, rigging, &c. The gallantry and good conduct of the officers and men of the Benheim merit the highest encomium.
