Lining Dispute Turned Over To National Office

Despite the unusual interest which was shown in the returns of Tuesday's election, members of Local Union 124 cast politics aside long enough to attend their regular weekly union meeting.

A large delegation of liners from Taylor, Smith & Taylor pottery were present and voiced their opinion on the controversy at that shop. During the discussion many facts were brought to light and it was the consensus of opinion that the matter should be turned over to national headquarters for adjustment. A committee was appointed to contact President Duffy immediately.

All decal girls from the Edwin M. Knowles pottery are requested to be present at our next meeting on Nov. 15 when a very important matter will be up for discussion. It is important that every girl attend this meeting.

An orchid to the shop committee from Edwin M. Knowles plant for the wonderful job they are doing. The members of this committee have given much of their time free gratis in handling the many disputes turned over to them, and have stayed on the shop many hours after their regular work day seeking to iron out various disputes with company officials.

We are anxiously awaiting a report from President Duffy regarding his meeting with officials of the West Virginia Unemployment Compensation bureau. The Brotherhood chief attended our previous meeting when the matter was up for discussion and outlined the procedure which had to be taken in this matter.

Congratulations to Bro. Ed. Curry who was successful in his bid for a School Board post in Tuesday's election. Ed. has the qualifications to carry out the duties of this office.
