El Centro Youth Oratory Winner
Bill Elliott of Central high school's speech team won first place for original oratory Friday in the contest in San Diego in which some 100 students representing nine high schools competed.
With the exception of Central, the other contestants were all from San Diego county.
The subject of Bill's oration was 'Nazi Germany's Future as a Nation'
Jack Carr made the finals also in the oratorical contest, placing fourth. and Helen Moore reached the finals in extemporaneous speaking.
