U. S. Deputy Marshal Bowles arrested Medie Johnson and Tom McAllister and wife, in Wakulla county Monday charged with having raised $1 bills to the denomination of $10, with which they were liberally supplied. Johnson was turned over to Sheriff Gregory for safe-keeping and McAllister and wife are being held in the Leon county jail. The deception is said to have been very clever. It is stated that the trio have been operating in this section of the state for some time and it is possible some of the counterfeit bills have been circulating through business channels.
