The new Nome National Guard Armory was officially accepted yesterday. Local National Guard Units will start moving into the new building immediately, but it will take about three weeks before the move is completed.
The first public function to be held at the Armory will be the Inaugural Ball on Friday, Jan. 20, however dedication of the new building will not be held until next spring or summer.
All local Guardsmen who have drills to make up are requested to report at the Armory this weekend to help with the move.
Capt. James O'Rourke said today a special drill will be held Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6. This will be a paid drill and the purpose of the drill is to make last minute preparations for the annual general inspection on Monday, Jan. 16.
