Board of Education

The Minneapolis Board of Education held a meeting yesterday afternoon, at half past two o'clock. All the members were present except Dr. Simpson. The recently elected members, Messrs. Oftedahl and Johnson, presented their oaths of office.

The first business was the election of officers for the ensuing year, which resulted as follows:

President—Dorilus Morrison.

Secretary—A. C. Austin

The president appointed the standing committees as follows:

Rules and Regulations—Messrs. Gale, Simpson and Young.

Finance, Taxes and Claims—Messrs. Young, Austin and Johnson.

Fuel, Supplies and Buildings—Messrs. Gale, Young and Austin.

Teachers and Salaries—Messrs. Simpson, Gale and Johnson.

Printing and Insurance—Messrs. Oftedahl and Austin.

On motion the time of meeting was fixed on the last Wednesday of each month at 2 o'clock

The resignations of Miss Anna T. Palmer and of Miss Alfa Van Volkenburg were accepted, and the board tendered them a resolution of regrets at their departure, and an expression of their appreciation of their long and valuable service in the public schools.
