Trapping.—On Sunday night, a thief was taken in the store of Mr. Calvin Bailey, Commercial street, under the following circumstances. Some person told Mr. B. on Sunday that his store was open, and on examination it was found that it had been opened by false keys, and the safe robbed. He engaged two young men to remain in the counting room that night, locking the door, and at a late hour, the thief unlocked the door and walked in, probably to make further examination, and opening his dark lantern discovered the young man sitting there who politely asked him to be seated. He declined, saying two gentlemen were waiting for him outside, and then extinguished his lamp. They then seized and secured him. A pocket book taken from the safe the night previous was found upon him.
