Dr. Levi E. George, of Tucson, reports some old people living in northern Arizona. He and a party found a tribe known as the Wakoyas on the Colorado river in a small valley shut in by high ranges and maintaining their independence of all other tribes. Here he found individuals who are said to be eighty, one hundred and ten, one hundred and seventy-five and one woman one hundred and eighty-two years old. The doctor, who claims to have seen much of the world, believes that these claims are true and argues from the appearance of the individuals and from their method of reckoning. He believes the spot where they live, shutting them out from all other tribes and healthfulness of the place to be the principal cause of this great longevity.
