The following is an extract of a letter from Rio de Janeiro, dated November 9.
"Not much decline has taken place in the price of flour, as we have been forcing off this article at $10 to 10 50 per bbl but we cannot quote it at present at more than 9 75 per bbl. Many vessels have arrived with flour and proceeded on to River of Plate, among others the ship Constitution, M Rea, of Norfolk. By the last letters received by us from Monte Video, flour was quoted at 14 on board, and at about the same price in Buenos Ayres. But such quantities of this article have gone on, that we anticipate to learn soon of a decline in prices.
"Owing to torrents of rain which have continued for some time, very little coffee has reached the market, which is, in consequence, at the present moment, nearly barren of that article—Some few lots have recently been purchased at 5 500 per arroba. Sugars remain without any alteration in price.
"Don Pedro was acclaimed Constitutional Emperor of the Brazils with great pomp on the twelfth ultimo; and in consequence of an intrigue to bring about a change in the ministry, considerable alarm was excited; but all is now quiet."
