Resolved, (by divine permission) I will pay to the Secretary of the American Bible Society, for value received, $1000 in four annual instalments of $250 each, payable on the first day of February, in the years 1836, 1837, 1838, and 1839, without defalcation.

After a few remarks the President handed the resolution to the Secretary and the following was found to be appended. "I will pay the like sums on the same terms."
