Full Text

Wilkinson vs. Jefferson.-It has been the fate of Mr. Jefferson, to be pulled down by the very men he has taken the most pains to build up. After squandering much private, if not more public money, upon Callender, Mr. Jefferson was afterwards compelled to writhe and sweat under the castigations of his quondam friend and tool; and by the following paragraph, it appears that he is about to receive a similar discipline from Wilkinson. If our philosopher will patronize knaves and villains, he must take their reward for his trouble--

" It is stated that Gen. Wilkinson is busily engaged in preparing a publication on the subject of the charge made against him ; and that he is consoled in this undertaking by reflecting, that if he must fall he has it in his power to drag a distinguished culprit along with him."-Philadel. Gaz.
