TB Committee Votes $250 For Additional Nurse

The Putnam Tuberculosis Committee voted $250 for the second nurse who is to be employed by the Visiting Nurse Association.

This is in addition to $500 already paid for regular work.

In effect, the Visiting Nurse is the agent who acts for the Tuberculosis Committee in case finding, preventive work, and actual nursing care and advisement of patients in Putnam.

The Committee also voted $100 to the Putnam Chapter Red Cross to pay expenses of a Tuberculosis patient who goes regularly to a sanatorium for periodic treatment of both lungs. The Red Cross has heretofore assumed this expense.

An inquiry has been sent to Hartford asking for a possible date in the future for a mass X-ray in Putnam by the State Mobile Unit. The Putnam Tuberculosis Committee will assume chairmanship of this survey in case a date can be secured.
