ANOTHER DAY OF JOLLIFICATION.
Atlanta, May 4.—In to-day's festivities the city authorities united with the Fire Department. The engine houses were all thrown open, and the morning was passed in riding out, in visiting and in general jollification. At 12 o'clock, the companies assembled at the State House, where, on behalf of the City of Atlanta and the Fire Department, Colonel Glenn presented the prizes to the victors. The judges were present, as well as the invited guests and a concourse of people. Among the distinguished citizens on the ground were Generals Live Oak Walker, Tige Anderson, and the Rev. Father Ryan. The presentation of the prize won by the Palmettoes was very handsomely done, and accompanied by immense cheering. The response was made by President Bust, of the Stonewalls, who, in concluding an eloquent speech, proposed three cheers for the State of Georgia and the Steam Fire Company Atlanta, the adversary of the Palmettoes. The Vigilants and Stonewalls attracted great attention by the beauty of their uniforms, and on forming the procession acted as a guard of honor to the prizes.
We leave Atlanta to-night, and shall arrive in Charleston on Wednesday afternoon, unless imprisoned by Augusta.
