Full Text

Two years since, a son of Mr. Hough, of Philadelphia was taken away from that city by a woman from New-Jersey and was supposed to have been drowned. Within a few days the post-master at Philadelphia received a letter from Mr. Hall of New-York, stating that a child had been discovered there, who said that he was about eight years old, that he was taken to that city and left there two years ago, and that his father's name was John Hough, and lived in Philadelphia. A letter from Mr. Hall to Mr. Hough was delivered to the old gentleman on the subject yesterday. He has no doubt of the child being his own, and was much affected at the providential discovery of a son whom he had considered as entirely lost. Measures have been taken to restore him immediately to his parents and his home.
