Full Text

We are pleased to hear that a military spirit pervades every part of the state; and that meetings have been held in the different towns & villages for the adoption of measures of defence, against any attack which may be made by the enemy. The last accounts from the enemy's squadron state, that the larger vessels continued just inside the capes, and that the smaller ones were cruising up and down the bay. The committee of safety for this borough, we are told, have agreed upon the site for the intended fort for the better protection of Wilmington. The citizens in many parts of the state have organised themselves into military associations and marched for Lewistown.
