Centennial Candles Burn
At Askov Banquet Program

Candles commemorating 100 years of the consumer cooperative movement were lighted at the banquet and program sponsored by the Askov Co-op Guild June 25 in honor of co-op board members and employees. The principal address was made by Glenn W. Thompson, Midland educational director. Other speakers: R. M. Mitchell, educational director of Pacific Supply Cooperative, Walla Walla, Wash.; Ernest Madsen of Cambridge, manager of Federated Co-ops, Inc.; Mrs. Chris Fredricksen, in behalf of the Guild, and Chris A. Nielsen, speaking for the guests. Several songs rounded out the evening.
