Tear Gas Bombs Stop Attempt To Enter Tel-Aviv

JERUSALEM. Feb. 17.-Eight hundred Jews, many of them suffering from tear gas burns, are aboard a ship on their way to the Island of Cyprus, after having failed in their attempt to land at Tel-Aviv.

They made several attempts to get ashore, but were forced back by tear gas bombs. The government announced the Jews will be retained at Cyprus until their turn comes to be admitted to Palestine under the quota of Jewish immigrants.
