Full Text

A complete collection of the "literary works" of the Emperor Napoleon the Great is being made in Paris, which, it is believed will extend through some twenty or thirty volumes. These works will consist of something more than mere proclamations, despatches and letters. Napoleon in his youth was ambitious of gaining a literary reputation, and employed much of his time in the concoction of tales and essays. Among them, says the London Literary Gazette, is a "Roman Cose:" a series of "Notes on my infancy and Youth," a tale or play called the "Earle of Essex;" "The Mask," an Eastern tale; "Giulio," a Continental tale; and a Dialogue on "Love," rather free in thought and expression.
