Italian Bakers Win
55-Day Strike in
Anganosa Bakery

NEW YORK.-After 55 days of strike the workers of the Anganosa Bakery Co., at 214 Thompson Street, have won all their demands, including recognition of the Shop Committee.

The strike led by the Bakery Workers Industrial Union, was composed only of Italian workers, and actively supported by the Food Workers Industrial Union and the United Front Bakers Committee.

The workers were unshaken by the gangsters' terror unleashed against them. An attempt to break their strike was made when the organizer of the Union, Alex Sambuceto, was arrested on framed-up charge of felonious assault. Sambuceto was later released on a $1,000 bail.

This victory of the bakery workers is hailed as a further proof that strikes can be won in times of crisis.
