MR. JENKS,

PERMIT me through the medium of your paper to introduce Capt. SAMUEL STEPHENSON, as a candidate for the office of Register of Deeds. Among the numerous candidates for this office, no person is more deserving the patronage of his fellow-citizens than this gentleman. He possesses all the qualifications for the office in the highest degree; and unable to endure the hardships, and changes of climate, to which mariners are exposed, he has relinquished his former profession, and is at leisure to discharge the duties of this office.
