The Board of Directors of Longview Asylum held their regular monthly meeting yesterday. President Bates occupied the chair. All the members, Mr. Reinlein excepted, were present.
The report of Superintendent Baker for May showed 25 admitted patients during the month, and 12 discharged; and of the latter 5 died, 1 improved, 1 unimproved, and 5 were cured. The number remaining in the Asylum is 621. Of these there are 291 white males, 295 white females, 12 colored males, and 20 colored females.
The request for the admission of a confirmed inebriate, presented by Mr. Eckert, was denied on the plea of want of jurisdiction, except by an order from the Probate Court.
A communication containing the resignation of Mr. Paul Reinlein, who has removed to the East, was received and referred to the County Commissioners.
On a vote for Secretary Dr. Carey was elected on the first ballot. Adjourned.
