NEW MARKET Tenn. -(SNS)- Failing in her desperate attempt to save them from the fire which ravaged their three-room dwelling, Mrs Rose Cunningham died Wednesday with her three small children.
According to witnesses' reconstruction of events, Mrs. Cunningham has arisen and made a fire in her stove the first thing in the morning. It was surmised that kerosene was used to ignite it.
After making the fire, Mrs Cunningham is then supposed to have gone next door to the home of a relative. In her absence, fire spread over the dwelling, trapping her children, who were in bed, inside.
The crowd which gathered to watch the fire devastate the tiny dwelling attempted to restrain Mrs Cunningham from entering. However, she tore away from their grasp and entered the burning house.
The house burned in, according to witnesses, a matter of a few minutes.
