THEATRICAL GOSSIP.
The attendance at the Richmond Theatre continues meagre. A good pantomime or ballet troupe might bring out the amusement seekers in force. The drama certainly does not attract them during the "heated term." The Couldocks are in St. Louis. The Keans are in Milwaukee.— Their engagements until the 15th of October will carry them consecutively to Cleveland, Buffalo, Montreal, New York, Boston and Philadelphia.— Wonder if they will visit Richmond.
Mrs. Jane Davenport Lander has gone to Europe. Emma Stanley opened at the Standard Theatre, London, on 12th ult., with her "Seven Ages of Woman." Mad. Celeste was at the Victoria. A new burlesque upon "East Lynne" is to be produced at the Arch, Philadelphia, during the present engagement of Frank Drew. It is entitled the "Great Western," and Mr. Drew is to appear as Lady Isabelle and Mad. Vine. Nixon's Circus has gone from Norfolk towards Newbern, N. C.
