Charged with issuing prescriptions indiscriminately for cocaine and whiskey, on Sunday and other days, to persons, some of whom were known as drunkards and "fiends," Dr. W. W. Wingrove, of Scarbro, Fayette county, was given a hearing before the state board of health and found guilty of unprofessional practice.

His license to practice medicine and surgery was revoked for one year, he being given the privilege of applying after that time for reinstatement.

Between fifty and seventy-five prescriptions that had been issued by Dr. Wingrove were introduced before the board as evidence, and none of them were denied by the defendant, though he thought perhaps some of them had been changed as to amounts.

Microscopic examination of the prescriptions however, failed to show that they had been changed.

Two persons who admitted that they were addicted to the habit of using cocaine appeared before the board and stated that they had secured prescriptions from Dr. Wingrove.
