A delegation from Westchester Commandery, No. 42, Knights Templar, of this village, went to New York on Monday evening to take part in and witness the ceremony of making our popular townsman, Henry D. McCord, of Westchester Commandery, an honorary member of Palestine Commandery, No. 18, of New York, at Masonic Temple. Those who went were Past Eminent Sirs Robert M. Lawrence, Isaac B. Noxon, Eugene Hall, and Sir Knights J. H. Truesdale, Joshua G. Many, George Lockwood, Ebenezer Fowler, W. C. Mead, and D. D. Mangani. The ceremony over, an adjournment was taken to the Ashland House, where Mr. McCord entertained the commandery and visitors at a sumptuous banquet. During the festivities, Warder Charles E. Lansing, on behalf of Palestine Commandery, presented Mr. McCord with a commandery jewel, studded with diamonds. The speech was a very happy one, and expressed the high esteem in which the newly-elected honorary member was held, and in reply Mr. McCord expressed his thanks, accepting the same, and hoping that the fraternal friendship for a long time existing between Westchester and Palestine Commanderies would continue to increase. The affair was one that will long be held in pleasant remembrance by all who were present.
