Crew Now Working on Farm of J. C. Crawford Near Glendale Springs.

The WPA project sponsored by the New River Soil Conservation District started work Monday morning on the J. C. Crawford farm near Glendale Springs. Stanton McIver, District Conservationist, said that insofar as possible, and if the type of work planned would permit, the crew will work on farms in the order in which they became cooperators with the district. He suggested that farmers already cooperating with the district be prepared to carry out their part of the agreement and that a representative of the district would see them a week or two before it is planned to begin work.

There is a crew of 25 men on the project under the supervision of Wade H. Lee. This crew will do soil conservation work on farms having a cooperative agreement with the district and can be used only for soil conservation jobs planned under the cooperative agreements.
