A power barge, The Health, newly commissioned for the Alaska Department of Health Service, called at the port of Seward this week on the way to Kodiak, where it will be permanently stationed.
This is one of the two boats of this type recently placed in service. The second will see service on the Yukon River, and the U. S. Navy is said to have taken the job of towing it through the Bering Sea.
Personnel of the boat took a trip to Anchorage while it was tied up at the Standard Oil Co. dock. The boat will give the same kind of service as is rendered by the "North Star" in coastal and island villages. It is well equipped as a clinic.
