University of Virginia.

We have received the catalogue of this institution and are gratified to see that it is in the full tide of prosperity in this its forty-second session, 1865-'66. The total number of students in attendance at its schools is 258, six of whom are from this State. It has a faculty of thirteen professors, and embraces within its various schools every branch of education. Among its corps of professors we observe the name of C. S. Venable, formerly professor in the South Carolina College.

The expenses of a student for the session of nine months, attendance at three schools, the average number attended, is $360, including boarding, tuition, washing, &c. This University has attained a high reputation throughout the Southern States.
