Bridges Denies Charges Linking Him With Reds

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 28. (UP) -Harry Bridges, west coast CIO leader, made sweeping denials from the witness stand today of government charges linking him with the Communist party and Communist activity on the Pacific coast.

Appearing as a witness in his own defense against deportation as an undesirable alien, the Australian-born labor leader denied, among other things, that:

1. He ever had attended Communist meetings.

2. He ever had boasted of running things for the Communist party on the west coast.

3. He ever had conferred with Earl Browder, secretary of the Communist party, either in San Francisco or in New York.
