LONDON, Tuesday. oct. 21.--(AP)
-Eight or nine German raiding
planes flew over
a Merseyside
town at half-hour intervals last
night and early today, dropping
bombs which caused some
acknowledged damage and a few
casualties.
Ground defenses put up a heavy
barrage. Several bombs also were
dropped in an East coast area.
The RAF yesterday ground-strafed German troops and blasted
an ammunition train from the
tracks in a broad sweep across
occupied France, the air ministry
announced.
Other RAF targets included two
freight trains, reported damaged,
and a group of barges near Calais,
which were set afire.
The Germans came back
at
England tonight, dropping a number
of bombs in an East coast
area.
