SCHOOL LEVY CARRIED IN QUIET ELECTION

The levy election held yesterday was the quietest in years and the vote was decidedly the lightest. No publicity had been given the holding of the election further than printing the call and the election ordinance.

The vote resulted as follows: Capital Hill precinct, 101 votes for the levy and 41 against; City Hall precinct, 97 for and 28 against; Banner school precinct, 74 for and 46 against.

The total vote cast in the district was 437 of which 322 were cast for the levy and 116 votes were cast in opposition. It requires merely a majority of the votes cast, not a per cent, of the registration, to carry a levy vote. In other words if no one voted save and except the members of the school board and the majority of them voted favorably, the levy would be legally carried.
