NEW LAWS.
Some $45,000 Worth of Legislation.

The laws passed at the present session of the Legislature and approved by the Governor are reported as follows:

Assembly Bill No. 1—Appropriates $53,000 to pay expenses of the 14th session of the Nevada Legislature.

Senate Bill No. 11—Authorizes Judiciary Committee to appoint a clerk. Judge Edwards appointed.

Assembly Bill No. 4—Provides that when $500 is in the treasury of White Pine county, the treasurer shall redeem outstanding warrants.

Senate Bill No. 12—Special election bill; the lottery scheme.

Assembly Bill No. 3—Provides that all officers having seals shall administer oaths, etc., free to U. S. pensioners.

Assembly Bill No. 14—Changes Section 187 of an Act to regulate proceedings in civil cases.

Assembly Bill No. 12—Authorizes the trustees of School District No. 7, town of Winnemucca, to issue $15,000 bonds to build a new school house.

Senate Bill No. 1—Authorizes the erection of electric lights at State Prison.

Senate Bill No. 15—Provides for the payment by the State of the expenses incurred in holding special election. Appropriates $15,000.

Assembly Bill No. 11—Provides that in all cases wherein a statement on appeal on motion for new trial is required to be filed, such statement when settled or agreed to shall be presumed to contain all of the evidence.

Senate Bill No. 16—Provides for restoring lost records.

Assembly Bill No. 21—Consolidates Sheriff and Assessor in counties casting a vote between 335 and 670.

Assembly Bill No. 24—Provides that service can be had by publication on persons residing out of State or concealing themselves to avoid service of summons.

Assembly Bill No. 27—Relates to appeals in Justice Courts.

Senate Bill No. 14—Prohibits dumping of sawdust in Truckee river.

Senate Bill No. 4—Fixes salary of Sheriff of Lincoln county.

Assembly Bill No. 13—Exempts all persons over 65 years of age from jury duty.

Senate Bill No. 20—Extends time for execution of a judgment to six years.

Senate Bill No. 26—Authorizes Commissioners of Storey county to pay claims of D. T. Morrill, amounting to $93.

Senate Bill No. 27—Allows Company B, Nevada State Militia, $300 for rent.

Assembly Bill No. 26—Defines the term "Reasonable Doubt."

Assembly Bill No. 29—Two days allowed to make up costs of Court.

Senate Bill No. 33—Warden of Prison authorized to erect G. A. R. monument in Carson cemetery.

Senate Bill No. 5—Repeals rabbit and squirrel bounty act.

Senate Bill No. 34—Repeals act prohibiting catching of fish in the Humboldt river.

Senate Bill No. 29—Relates to the establishing of agricultural experiment station.

Assembly Bill No. 75—Changes salary of county officers in Lyon county.

Senate Bill No. 2—Amending election law so as to make only one canvass necessary.

Assembly Bill No. 54—Extends time of proving up Indian War claims to 90 days.

Assembly Bill No. 74—Provides that sureties on official bonds shall not be compelled to qualify in double the amount they are surety for.
