SALT AT $1 25 PER SACK.—We take the following paragraph from the Sandersville Central Georgian. It is needless for us to comment upon such noble, generous acts.—Such men can never die. Their mortal bodies may crumble into dust, but their memory will live in the hearts of the people for generations to come.

We know a gentleman living in Johnson county who has been furnishing salt to his neighbors the present season at the above price—have bought salt from him at that price ourself within the past week. But this is not all. He has loaned it to his neighbors for miles around, with the understanding that the salt is to be returned within one, two and three years. Besides this, he has loaned bagging in the same way, or sold it at 10 cents per yard. That man is Dr. Thomas A. Parsons, now Captain Parsons, in the Georgia service, and Aid to Gen. Harrison. To our certain knowledge a merchant offered to purchase the salt at a large profit to Dr. P.
