Full Text

We learn that at Richmond, on Saturday evening last, in consequence of some difficulty arising between John Schonberger and Thomas E. Wesley, the former procured a gun, pursued and fired at the latter, (at the distance of about thirty yards, while riding through Rocketts,) who received the whole discharge of shot in the region of the heart, causing immediate death. Schonberger had married a sister of Wesley, thereby becoming interested in the estate of the father of the deceased; and it seems that the cause of this melancholy affair grew out of differences produced by the agency of the deceased in relation to said property, of which he was administrator. It is said that Schonberger, who was dissatisfied with his administration of the property, had threatened to take the life of the deceased some time previous to the execution of his malignant design. Schonberger has been arrested, and will, we understand, be brought before an examining Court to-day.—Eng.
