Atlanta is Obstinate

Welcomes Yellow Fever Refugees in Defiance of the Orders of the State Board of Health

When the Atlanta and West Point train reached Atlanta Saturday morning it was met at the station by Mayor Woodward and a squad of police. There were several passengers from Pensacola, Louisiana and Mississippi on the train, who had been previously warned by the state authorities from stopping at any place in Georgia. They were not only allowed to get off the train, but welcomed to the city by Mayor Woodward, who directed the police to arrest anyone who interfered with them while in the city limits.
