LONDON, August 7.
A very extraordinary Letter to the Mayor of Limerick for which 200l. was offered to discover the Author.

SIR, It is with great indignation and contempt we reflect on the past and present massacre of many of the lives of our poor Roman Catholicks who are suffering for religion and liberty sake, but ye heretic dogs, the day will soon come that we will make your potent blood go like a flood down your streets ye heretick wolves we will soon shake off our yoke like true born sons of Hibernia and retaliate all grievances on your own heads you sir with the corporation of Limerick thought to oppress the Roman catholick tradesmen of the city by a grant of parliament charter, but the time will soon come when we will drive your parliament to hell, and paint the walls inside with the blood of its heretick members we are both able and willing to gain our liberty and settle ourselves free masters of our own soil and give you as fatal blow as our ancestors gave the Danes, and be well assured we will remember our love to you and the rest of the clan, and your member of the house Charles Smith by name for his vigilance in charters for the heretick dogs the tradesmen of Limerick, that little pert animal Sir Henry Harstonge shall pay for his vigilance in hunting the white boys so called we will give his body to our dogs for food and as a just reward of his merit his soul to the devil, to conclude sir a speedy destruction to both king and government as by law established which is the sincere wish of him who is and ever shall remain your professed enemy.
