WILLIAMSBURG, August 29.

We hear from Augusta, that a number of Tories in the lower part of that county, about 75, had lately met and enrolled themselves into a company, took the oath of allegiance to the King of Britain, and in defiance to the militia of that county; upon which a small party marched in pursuit of them, took 8 of them prisoners, and wounded their chief one, WILLIAM HINTON, in both thighs, who made his escape, it being in the night and very dark, He has since sent in word that he will deliver himself up if they will promise not to kill him; but it is expected he will be taken before he could get an answer. Those that are taken were to have their trial last Saturday at Staunton.
