Full Text

Elsewhere we publish a communication from Madison county in reference to the Einstein Silver Mines. As to our item of last week, wherein it was stated that these mines had closed down permanently, we thought then that our information was correct, and we are glad to find now that such is not the case. It is probable that work will be vigorously prosecuted for some time, or until the question of the value of the mines is definitely settled. There appears to be some conflicting interest among the owners to the mines—one portion desiring to close the other out, and the other striving to stay in: it being to the former's interest to destroy the public confidence, and the latter to enhance it. We do not desire to do any one injustice in the matter, and so will merely state that we are now convinced that the Silver Mines are by no means a proven failure, and have faith that they will yet be a source of wealth and prosperity to this section. This conclusion is forced upon us by what we have heard from truthful men during the past few days.
