Indian Treaty.--By the Treaty made with the Indians, by Cass and M'Arthur, the United States are bound to pay several Indian tribes, the amount of $1000 annually, forever; $2300 annually, for fifteen years : and $500 in the year 1818, all payable in specie-- the old annuities to be continued. The United States also agree to pay for damage done several tribes during the war, to the amount of about $16,978. Also, to pay the value of improvements made by the Indians, which they may have to abandon in consequence of the treaty. The United States also grant lands to Whipping-Stick, Running about, Big-shake, Tatla end, Falling-tree, When-you-are-tired sit down, and to sundry other Indians, to the amount of one hundred and four square miles, in different parts--also, thirty thousand acres.
