Full Text

A Queer Mania.

A man named J. D. Gray was arrested yesterday and put in jail by Johnny Fitzmorris on the charge of lunacy. He exhibits a very singular mania. He imagines that he is proprietor of all the wood in the country. In accordance with this notion he hired a wagon and took away five cords of mahogany wood, belonging to John Stewart, and sold the same for $5.75. He had all the drays in town engaged yesterday to transport wood from some place where he had seen his fancied possessions piled up down to Main street for sale. On the strength of his property in wood he got a suit of clothes at the White House, which he promised to pay for with a certain number of cords. For several days past he has been trudging along in the middle of the street, covered with dust to the knees.
