Bingham.
Mrs. Rebecca Harding of Solon, and Mrs. Delia Howe of Gardiner, were the guests of Mrs. George Gordon for several days last week.
Mrs. Norris Bray has returned from Boston, and her health is improving.
The Ladies' Aid Society held their regular meeting Wednesday of last week, at Mrs. George Bray's. next meeting will be at Mrs. Lucinda Baker's.
Mrs. T. H. Foss went to Carritunk, Thursday, returning Saturday, with her husband.
Fred Preble has been helping S. T. Goodrich with his haying and John Piper is working for Thomas Emerton.
Chas. Coleman and family were in town, last week, on their way home to Jackman, from down river. They were the guests of Mrs. D. S. Foster.
Mrs. A. M. Holden has been up river to The Forks and Carritunk.
Mrs. John Mahoney has a baby girl born July 13th.
Hazel Davis of N. Anson, recently visited her little friends Helen and Marcia Steward of this place.
Chas. Preble and family of Madison, spent last Sunday and Monday, with his mother, Mrs. Abbie Preble and brother, Frank Preble.
Henry Vickery and Dan Holt are painting Henry Washburn's large barn on the farm.
Granville Goodrich is remodelling and repairing his house; Edward Catney is doing the carpenter work.
Addie Graves of Iowa, was visiting friends in this vicinity, last week.
Mrs. Lorena Goodrich is having pipe laid from the aqueduct to her house.
Never was there so much good hay housed as has been this season, but the drouth has ruined the potato crop.
There has been a good run of sportsmen up river, also to Rowe and Carry ponds. Fishing at Rowe pond has been very good the past week.
Lizzie Tinkham was the guest of Lephe Dinsmore recently.
Mrs. Hemus preached to a good large audience Sunday evening, in the Methodist church, no other services being held it was made a union meeting.
Mrs. Christopher Stewart and little daughter of Carritunk, have recently been the guests of Mrs. Frank Hunnewell of Moscow, and Mrs. Frank Hilton of Bingham.
Curren Smith and wife accompanied by Clifford Maynard and wife of Massachusetts, have spent the past four or five days at Pleasant pond.
Wm. Orr and Chas. Jacobs of Springfield, Mass., and Sanford Barnes of New York went to Carry ponds for a pleasure trip last week.
The rear drive passed here last Friday, and reached Solon, Monday, where the crews were discharged and new crews made up for the remainder of the drive.
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Andrews of Pleasant Ridge were in town, Tuesday.
A crew of men passed through town Monday, for Pierce Pond. The three million cut of last winter will be rafted down the pond, driven down the stream and river to the pulp mill at Madison.
Unless we have a heavy rain fall this will be a difficult job as the water in the pond and river is very low.
Arthur Flanders and his brother of Mayfield, brought a large pailful of field strawberries to market last week.
Mrs. Higgins and Mrs. Gordon of Concord bring raspberries to market quite often.
Earl Andrews, who is sick with pneumonia is now improving.
George Eames' little child is also better, having been quite sick.
George Bray was in Farmington a short time ago.
As John Redmond drove over the covered ditch in front of Lorena Goodrich's one of the springs to his wagon broke, Tuesday evening.
