Daughter Elks Hold Election

BY RUBY LUCILLE BROWN

On last Wednesday evening the Daughter Elks of Greater Miami Temple No. 769 turned out in large numbers to their election and installation held by the dynamic deputy daughter Marie White. It was strictly constitutional.

All reports were read and each officer congratulated by the deputy. Dt. Ellen Taylor led her opponent with a large majority of votes for the daughter ruler seat. Dt. Olive Simmons was elected vice daughter ruler unopposed. Dt. Wilhelmenia Johnson ran far ahead of her opponent as assistant daughter ruler. Dt. Elizabeth Ansley was elected chaplain. Dt. Louise Boyer was unanimously elected as the recorder of her temple.

Dt. Bertha Lewis, chairman of the auditing committee gave the exact number of members enrolled, the number financial and number of deaths during the year.

"Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour" was sung and the deputy spoke of the "On To Nassau Club" and the pleasure each one received in attending this club. The temple has on a dispensation to make members for $3.50 and reinstate for $2.50. All seem to be moving on.
