New York, Aug. 14.-The Steamer Nova Scotia brings Liverpool dates of the 2d August. Cotton sales of the week 69,000 bales, of which Speculators took 12,000 and Exporters 9,000 bales. Sales Friday, 6,000 bales, closing quiet. Orleans Fair, 9d; Orleans Middling, 9 1/2d.

Breadstuffs steady, Provisions inactive. Bullion has increased in the Bank 7,600,000 pounds. The Bank rate of interest is reduced to five per cent. Starke won the Goodwood cup.

The Steamers North Briton and Edinburgh had arrived out.
