Full Text
The Banner of Saturday says: The General Assembly has now fairly struck upon a vein which promises to develop into a rich mine of hidden and stolen treasure, that, if energetically worked up, ought to restore to the State Treasury much of the public moneys which have been plundered from it, and at this moment is in the hands of certain Joseph Surfaces, who are very virtuously crying "stop thief," in order to lull suspicion. This is nothing more or less than the resumption of the unfinished and incomplete investigations of the last General Assembly, where they were left off by the termination of its final session.
