Council Of Social Agencies Aid Flood Sufferers

The Minneapolis Council of Social Agencies has completed the campaign for Red Cross flood relief funds which exceeded its quota by $32,000.00. Red Cross officials this week reported approximately $133,000.00.

Thanking the neighborhood weeklies and various magazines of Minneapolis and Hennepin County for their part in the emergency, John M. Harrison, chairman of the local chapter of the Red Cross. said. "We owe a great deal to the publishers in Minneapolis and Hennepin County for the part which they played during the present flood catastrophe. These publications should feel proud of the fact that Minneapolis stands at the head of the United States in helping aid their fellow Americans during this period of disaster. I firmly believe, however. this would have been impossible had it not been for the publicity so generously offered by every publication in the city."

Red Cross funds will be used for the purchasing of medical supplies, hospital units and the establishing of camps for refugees. Mr. Harrison said. Money from Minneapolis and Hennepin County was sent to the scene of the disaster as rapidly as it was collected. Contributions will be received for flood relief indefinitely by the Red Cross.
